Snow and Blanket Repair

Image
(Stay tuned to the end of the post for the crafty ish stuff.) La! How is everyone today? I can honestly say that I am doing 100% better than yesterday. I had actually written a mile long wall of text last night to post today. But as I was going on 32ish hours without sleep, I'm really glad I decided to wait lol. Trust me, you don't want to see my rambling post about what my day was like yesterday. Suffice it to say that, yesterday was an experience I'd rather NOT repeat. I spent the morning ecstatic about the pretty snow, the midmorning worried sick about my Daddy who was stuck on the road with thousand of Alabamians. Then I spent the early afternoon (still worrying) And heading to the ER with my cousin who spun out and ended up in the ditch. And the ambulance, ended up in the ditch as well...with us in it. This is Alabama guys! We just don't deal with this type of weather very often, and certainly not when it's not in the forecasted. So yeah...Yesterday was a lon

Freak Snow Storm

Image
So...I was going to post a new blog post today! But...we had a freak unforecasted snowstorm to happen. It's been a heck of a day, and I'm exhausted. But I wanted to say Hi to all of my new followers! I can't wait to get to know all of you! I haven't gotten to skim my comments yet but hopefully I can do that soon. Also...I was able to make my first snow angel in my entire life...and it came out much like Patrick's over there lol. :D I hope you all are in far better shape than Alabama is in right now. Please keep us in your prayers this week! I felt much like this kitten today.... PS: please let me know if my new blog colors are too dark to read. :)  Sola Fide Bliss

Grow Your Blog!

Image
Hello there! I hope you are all having a wonderful day and I first want to thank you for stopping by my blog! Welcome to Crochet Bliss! I've never been very good at introducing myself on these types of things but I'll do my best for you today! Guess I'll start off with a few facts, yes? My name is Bliss, and I'm a 23 year old college student. I go to school in Dallas Tx but I live with my family in Alabama. I'm currently taking off a semester to help out my family, and I plan to return to the bustling city life of Dallas in August. I decided to create this blog at the beginning of the year in part to help me stay motivated in my projects and perhaps connect with other crafters around the world. I was inspired by some friends over at Deviant art who also blog. And since I like to write, and show off the things I make, what better place to do that than a blog? My main area of crafting is Crochet, though I dabble in embroidery sometimes, I've co

Hay Fever and Mood Blocks 17-19

Image
Hi everyone! Seems I'm a bit behind with my mood blocks, but that's okay. In general my days have been 'red' because of my annoying hay fever. It's the dead of winter and I'm suffering from allergies! And the meds I take make me wanna sleep and just do nothing. xD So I made a few blocks this morning, and here they are! January 23, 2014 Mood Color: Yellow, Creative  January 22, 2014 - Mood Color Red, Sick  January 21, 2014 Mood Color Red (Yes, I promise it's red!) - Sick There you have it ladies and gents, my latest mood blocks. Mood Afghan Blocks 12 - 16

Image
Hi yo! How is everyone doing?  I'm doing alright I got a little behind on my blocks this week, I did some major cleaning and revamping of my yarn storage over the weekend and my sister had surgery on Monday, it went great, Praise God!  But enough of that I'm all caught up now. (Minus todays block the 16th) So without further ado, here are my most recent blocks! January 11, 2014 Mood Color - Green, for Accomplished. I reorganized my whole room! It's great :) January 12, 2014 Mood Color Blue, Sleep, I slept all day Sunday because of staying up all night because of cleaning. xD January 13, 2014 Mood Color Purple, Blessed, My sister had surgery and all came out great so I feel rather blessed. January 14, 2014 Mood Color variegated, I was lazy Tuesday and just didn't make a block. So I chose a varigated to stand in for 'lazy'. ^^ January 15, 2014 Mood Color Purple, Peaceful. Dish Cloths

Image
I finished my dishcloths this morning, while watching a bit of Sherlock (BBC Version) So now I have two more cloths to add to my collection. My goal is to use up all the cotton yarn in my stash. I loved the pattern for the red one which I shared earlier and I will most likely make a few more with that pattern. It worked up quickly when I actually set about to hook it. And I'm pleased with the results. The orange one is so - so but I was admittedly bored with working with the orange as I made an orange washcloth recently. And it was large enough because of the treble stitches. Sola Fide Bliss

Mood Afghan Blocks, 9, 10 & 11

Image
Sorry for the delay in getting these posted up. I was very unmotivated to even work on them. But I've caught up so here they are. January 8, 2014 Mood Block Color - Variegated, I was in a mood that didn't fit any of my other colors. Yarn: I love this Yarn in Songbird stripe.  January 9, 2014 Mood Block Color - White, Empty Yarn: Redheart super saver - Aran (The block isn't actually as white as the photo shows. Too much post processing there.)  Januray 10, 2013 Mood Block Color - Gray, Down/depressed. Yarn: Redheart super saver in Charcoal. In the next few days or possibly weeks I may not follow my mood chart exactly, it depends on how quickly I can accept and deal with the fact that I'm unable to go back to College this semester. And I really don't want a blanket full of gray blocks. So the colors may not always reflect my mood. Sola Fide Bliss

Amigurumi

Image
I haven't done my block of the day yet, but I did work up a thing for my ami's that I made in 2013 and I wanted to share it. I personally think it's an amazing feat for someone who didn't start making them until April. The sad thing is that not of a one of them is mine >.<  I am in the progress of another one...for myself I think...perhaps...you never really can tell. So anyway here are my Ami's!

Hats and Hoods

Image
What I worked on most of last night was a skull cap for my Mom to sleep in.  I think I did a rather good job of it really. I used Yarn Bee yarn in Forest. I had originally planned to use this yarn for a 12x12 block, but I was unable to do so, because it just wouldn't work up properly. It was soft and perhaps too thin, or too heavy. So, I made a hat. After this, I'm putting all other projects on hold until I finish my squares for the swap I'm in. I have roughly 4 squares to finish and I need to get them knocked out so I can get them shipped off to their owners.  Wish me luck! Sola Fide Bliss

Mood Afghan Block 7 & 8

Image
So, I made two blocks for the 7th....one I made in the early morning when my mood was not so great. The other I made in the afternoon after recieving a package from a dear friend in New York. It served to remind me that no matter how dark my thoughts my turn there is always someone there. January 7, 2014 Mood Block Color Black- Private January 7, 2014 Mood Block Color Purple, Blessed

WiP's

Image
So I have a few WIPs today that I thought I'd share with you all today. The first may only look like a ball of yarn but I had just frogged it to start over I'm attempting to make a hood/cowl for myself since I can't wear hats because of my hair. And it wasn't wide enough for what I wanted, so I had to frog it. So hopefully I'll have a little more substance on this one to show you soon. The next two are dishcloths that I'm working on. The orange one is my own pattern of hdc (half double crochet) and tr (treble crochet) alternating rows. The red one however is a pattern I found on a blog called  The Good Life , and I really liked the pattern so I thought I'd try it. I like how it's working up so far, hopefully I'll be able to finish in the next day or so. :)  This next one is a mystery WIP, see if you can guess what it is before I finish it? So far this is all that I've done on it so far. As soon as I'm finished and hav
